Building the Capacity of Black Programs
Ujima launched The Building the Capacity of Black Programs (BCBP) support for Survivors of Domestic Violence from Culturally Specific Populations.
This Program allows culturally specific activities for survivors of domestic violence to address emergent needs resulting from the spread of the COVID-19 virus and to promote strategic partnership development and collaboration in responding to public health concerns for survivors. The populations targeted for support and assistance via these funds are domestic violence victims and survivors in the Black community, which include the Black community as the African Diaspora in its broadest sense, e.g., Black Americans (descendants of enslaved Africans in the U.S.); African immigrants, refugees, and asylees; Afro-Caribbean; and Afro-Latinx.
