What is Community Violence?
Community Violence | Exposure to intentional acts of interpersonal violence committed in public areas by individuals who are not intimately related to the victim. Acts of community violence include but are not limited to riots, sniper attacks, gang wars, drive-by shootings, bullying, workplace assaults, terrorist attacks, torture, bombings, war, ethnic cleansing, and widespread sexual, physical, and emotional abuse.
An individual or group that is a threat to their immediate community by physical violence or participating in activities that promote hatred or intolerance to freedom
An egregious act against someone who resides in your neighborhood
Any act or activity perpetrated by an individual, group of individuals or institution that threatens the health, safety, or well-being of members of a given community
Violent or nefarious acts committed by individuals or groups against members of a particular community
The unwarranted attack of a person or group of people simply because of their inherited demographics
